You will primarily learn about Materials Technology, Logistics and Finance
As an exchange student, you will be joining the fourth semester of our full degree programme Materials Science and Product Designs.
You can choose between a textile speciality or a furniture speciality during this semester. Please note that we might only be able to offer one of the two specialities depending on the number of students.
The programme will be taught in English and consist of both international and Danish students.
The basic subjects and projects are:
Logistics and Finance - 5 ECTS
You will acquire basic understanding of the concept of logistics and its main elements. In addition, you will acquire basic understanding of how logistics is handled in a company context.
You will also acquire conceptual understanding of the role of logistics in a company and in the supply chain.
Materials Technology (specialty) - 5 ECTS
For the textile speciality: You will acquire basic knowledge of textile fibres (natural fibres and man-made fibres) leather and fur.
For the furniture speciality: You will acquire basic knowledge of furniture materials such as metal, wood, plastic, leather and fur.
In addition, you will acquire basic knowledge of material properties and application.
Materials technology and processing (speciality) – 5 ECTS
For the textile speciality: You will acquire a basic knowledge of fibre constructions, woven and nonwoven, fabric constructions, dyeing, printing, coating/lamination, and finishing, including characteristics, possibilities and limitations.
For the furniture speciality: You will acquire basic knowledge of cutting, metal forming, dyeing, coating, laminating and finishing, including properties, possibilities and limitations.
Electives within materials and processes /management – 5 ECTS
You can choose between different electives within materials and process or management.
Future materials (project) – 10 ECTS
The purpose of the project is for you to gain knowledge and understanding of innovative materials and technologies and apply development processes and methods.
Using the theory acquired, you should be able to apply your knowledge of materials, technologies, innovation development processes and methods, sustainability and environmental matters, academic writing, and graphical documentation to a specific development assignment that will form the basis for your Future Materials Project.
