Summer school

You will learn how to create possibilities for, lead and develop creative experiences and learning processes. You will learn how to support and inspire people to work creatively with (musical) and aesthetic forms of expression and cultural endeavors.

In this course you will be introduced to methods used when creating possibilities for, leading and developing creative experiences and learning processes

Content

Creative thinking

Learn how to:

- think as a designer through creative and aesthetic processes.

- implement play as an active method to work with the importance of creative processes.

Design methods

Learn how to:

- plan, organise, and support musical and aesthetic production and aesthetic learning processes for and with a chosen target group.

- work with challenging problems and innovative solutions through Design Thinking as a method.

Learning outcomes

Students can create the framework for, manage and develop creative processes of experience and learning. Processes which support and inspire people to work creatively with (musical) and aesthetic forms of expression and activities that create culture.

Students can identify, analyze and reflect on cross-professional and cross-sector dilemmas and potentials and must take part in, coordinate and manage holistic and cross-professional processes of cooperation.

Teaching and exam

The pedagogical approach of this summer school is an action-reflection theory, which means that we are always testing learning and theory through practical exercises. The teaching will be workshop based with a mix of short theoretical lectures, presentations of – and training in – tools, and reflection on the learning.

In addition, you will work with and be inspired by other participants and you will get the opportunity to work on your own projects too.

Bennyé D. Austring, Merete Sørensen (2012): A Scandinavian View on the Aesthetics as a Learning Media

The exam consists of:

1. Expression/documentary of an aesthetic and pedagogical activity/view of making art (artefact, drawing, collage, photos, words, music, clay etc.):

2. An oral presentation and discussion about the aesthetic and pedagogical activity/view of making art by using one of the methods or models, that have been presented during the course.

Assessment: A joint evaluation of documentation of the pedagogical activity/view of making art and the oral exam.

Time frame:

2 students: 15 min. for presentation and discussion 

3 students: 20 min. for presentation and discussion

4 students: 25 min. for presentation and discussion

App. 1/3 of the time is dedicated to the students’ presentation.

Accommodation, meals (food and drink), insurance, visa and travelling expenses to and from Denmark are not included in the fee.
